A huge thank you to the Lugwigs Corner Fire Department for graciously hosting the Go Bald event in support of the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This incredible event was inspired by Uwchlan's idea, but it was the fire department's support and hospitality that made it all possible. Your contribution and generosity do not go unnoticed. Thank you for helping us make a difference!
Welcome back to Heroes Next Door! This week, we stayed close to home and teamed up with Uwchlan Ambulance Corp to showcase an incredible event for both the public and first responders.
We had the privilege to hang out at St. Baldrick's Go Bald For Childhood Cancer event, with unlimited access granted by Andrew O'Donnell and Chief Tammy Whiteman. The day kicked off with 5 hours of free, top-notch education from local healthcare professionals, covering fantastic and essential topics.
After the morning sessions, everyone enjoyed lunch from some awesome food trucks. The highlight of the day was the main event, where participants showed their support for childhood cancer research by shaving their heads or cutting their long hair. It was truly inspiring to see so many people donating their time, money, and hair to this cause.
But the fun didn't stop there! The event had plenty of activities for kids and adults alike, including moon bounces, mazes, an ax-throwing cage, merchandise stalls, and impressive displays from local police, fire, and EMS units. Plus, two helicopters landed, giving the kids an up-close experience!
A huge thank you to Uwchlan Ambulance Corp for organizing such an impactful event. We hope this inspires your department to host similar events in your communities.

The show has got the fewest amount of real medic scenes then family guy
I'm still partial to the old stations.
It was great meeting you, thank you for what you do!
no disrespect but you would think that for a big station like this one you would have a ladder truck
This is really cool
48/96 would be awesome. Especially at this place !
Another job well done Mike!! Happy Father’s Day!
These cars are not reliable at all. Bring the crown Vic’s back
Hmmm... Looks like something inbetween a prison and a rehab facility.
Thanks for sharing. Wish more departments would get involved with St. Baldrick's Foundation.
Average skill
Exelente camaradas!!! Un abrazo grande!!!
What interventions can a RN do that a licensed paramedic can’t? Medics intubate and run vents?
Very enlightening Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for showing this to us
Awesome program. A great idea. Thanks to all who work to put this on.
Mike, Never been there before. You gave a great peak of the show! Thanks for what you do👍👍👍
Come to Scotland and do some visits
Would love to. We need invites and a sponsor to make that happen. Hopefully one day we can.
@@HeroesNextDoor I’m a firefighter over here so you definitely have an invite
Send invites to watchheroesnextdoor@gmail.com.
He needs to be invited!
I do love color ford explorer and lights are awesome 10 out 10
You should come to Aberdeen South Dakota and do our Police and Fire Departments.
We need the official invites send to watchheroesnextdoor@gmail.com
Very cool Fire Museum
not too many ricky rescue idiots there i bet
You guys are awesome.
Thank you
I worked in municipal and industrial fire departments back in the ‘80’s. The industrial department had the Gamewell system including the ticker tape. Very cool how it worked. Never broke down.
anyway I can get a close up of the pre fire plan/operations form the gentlemen had shown at the beginning of the clip. I am currently seeking to create one for my department as a quick cheat sheet/reference/reminder during crash ops
Pause the video and see if you can catch it
Recommended: Use Airsoft guns instead of Paintball, Airsoft is much more realistic and good for Training.
3 words It Is T.V.
Yeah we know. This is just for fun and education to those that don’t do it for real. Curving their expectations 😉
Such a small vehicle, with such little water. Can you explain how it is used??? How complements the other bigger apparatus??? That is something that would be very interesting to see. How the job is done, for ultimately it is all about people and hard work.
i went to the expo and i loved it
Lone Camp VFD rigs are green & yellow Lone Camp,Texas
Thank you so much for sharing the TOP 10 and the Air/Prop special boat unit 😊 You do great work and hopefully get more people to volunteer in the areas that need them so much 😊❤😊
I like the expo in Monroeville
have you ever went to FDIC ?
Not yet hope to next year if I can get off work 😉
@@HeroesNextDoor Hopefully you can attend next year’s FDIC in Indianapolis I attend every year this has to be the best show in the world tons of amazing equipment and vendors maybe you can shoot a episode while you are there just a thought thanks Mike.
⛑️🇬🇧🤿🦻⛽🦍📚📚📚📚🌈📐🗞️🏅🌮🥥📞🎻
Great video, some great vehicles and equipment on show.
My local department hyattsville 👏🏽👏🏽 Dope to see them on the channel
It was a pleasure to meet you there. Keep on doing what you're doing!
Lan-caster?
Thank you for walk through of the newest and greatest equipment for Fire fighting One thing I would like to see is some way to incorporate a ( porta poddy) into the equipment. I always think about on a big event. They are really getting great at REHAB for FF in today's modern FF. But I would definitely like to see a toilet added somewhere. I mean if a small boat can build in a small head. Then FF equipment can also do the same. Just my Humble opinion 😊
There was one there. I just did not think people wanted to see a toilet 🤣👍🏻
@@HeroesNextDoor Thank you for that. YES it is a subject no one likes to talk about. But I do Rehab as an Advisor for a Fire Cadets program. And a big TWO alarms, and other massive call outs. I see the FF in there groups at there Rigs or doing rehab and I always wonder if the ( Bladder) would be able to dump out ( privacy) that there BP and pulse might be LOWER. You know what I mean with all your real world experiences. And I Love how you walk through of stations.
Never see firefighter eating a salad 🥗🥗🥗
I was there must have missed you that would have been awesome to meet you
Next time!👍🏻
@@HeroesNextDoor i’m probably going again next year
wow thanks mike great video and i think i will have to attend a fire expo now
